Fine Art Oil Painting by Tina
Through an artist's eyes, the world is full of vibrant colors. Let me showcase the world as God created it.
As far back as I can remember, I have always wanted to be an artist. When I was 12, I started oil painting lessons with a lovely lady from South Miami, Marion Hildebrandt. For two hours every week for 4 years she taught me how to mix every color under the sun. I learned how to paint still life’s, landscapes, seascapes, and animals. I also took various art classes throughout school and attended Fort Lauderdale Art School for a short time.
Soon after I got a job with the US Postal Service. Life happened and at 23, while working for the USPS and having a family, I went back to oil painting, and studied with a very talented artist, Van Denberg. He taught me how to refine my painting of animals and people. Van’s instruction showed me how to give life to a living being. This is when I began to love painting pet portraits. I especially love to paint dogs, horses, cats and birds.
At 29, I went back to school at Miami Lakes Technical School for Commercial Art. In 1987 I was awarded the Illustrator/Sign maker position for the US Postal Service, South Florida District. A job I held for 17 years. At this time my three children are older and I am now able to devote my time to my first love, oil painting. Living in High Springs I am enjoying being a member of the Gainesville Fine Arts, http://www.gainesvillefinearts.com
Thinking with the right side of my brain, the creative side, I am inspired to get back to my first love, fine art oil painting. Join me on my journey to find my way back and enjoy my art as much as I lovecreating it.
